As you join, you get two Manuals:
the Competent Communication and
the Competent Leadership.
the Competent Leadership.
The Competent Communication manual has ten project / speeches that help us grow and learn bit by bit, from the first 5 minute Icebreaker, to introduce us to the club and stand and speak first time, through different levels each teaching one more skill.
There is a page explaining shortly of the projects.
Anyone who has given its 10th speech becomes 'Competent Communicator' and gets two more Advance Speech books at choice, in each of those there are 5 more projects: those can be done on any order. As you finish two books, ten more projects, you advance one step.
Every new member can also download shorter brochures about Evaluation, Voice, Body language, helping along and explaining those subjects in more detail. Every new member should have a Mentor, helping through the first speeches, encouraging, giving answers to questions and tips as needed. As new member, if you do not have yet, ask to get one! Before going on to explore on our own, we do need guide, help and encouragement.
The Competent Leader manual explains and guides through meeting roles and lets us grow, too. One by one we learn new skills. Ask someone near you to evaluate you in the role you just have taken, at the meeting. Thus slowly, that manual also feels in and we gain even more confidence in ourselves.
